Description

This is not just a job. This is an opportunity to help build and scale a company. Table 87 is a Brooklyn-born, family-owned brand that started in 2012 with one coal-fired pizza restaurant and has grown into a multi-channel business spanning restaurants, retail, and food service. We became known for offering coal-fired pizza by the slice, something that didn’t exist in the Brooklyn pizza scene before Table 87. A few years later, in 2014, we took that same slice, froze it, vacuum sealed it, and brought it into local grocery stores. We built our name on authentic coal-fired pizza and solved a problem the industry said couldn’t be solved. We created a fully cooked, flash-frozen product that delivers a true pizzeria experience at home in minutes. That innovation led to national distribution, a deal on Shark Tank, and features in The New York Times and other major publications. Today, our frozen products are sold nationwide through major retailers and food service partners, and we are entering a major growth phase. We are looking for a sales-driven Chief Operating Officer to lead that next phase. The Role The COO will oversee the full operational engine of Table 87 Frozen, including manufacturing, supply chain, and sales. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands how to build structure, drive revenue, and scale a business. This role is not about maintaining systems. It is about building and improving them. You will work directly with ownership to drive growth, create accountability, and execute at a high level across the organization. If you have not personally built and scaled a brand or product before, do not apply. This role requires real, hands-on experience doing it, not supporting it from the sidelines. What You’ll Own & Help Develop Sales & Growth (Core Focus) • Own and help develop top-line revenue across retail, food service, and emerging channels • Build and implement a structured, scalable sales operation • Help develop and execute aggressive strategies to expand distribution and market share • Manage and grow relationships with key distributors such as UNFI and KeHE • Oversee and help develop direct sales efforts, broker networks, and internal sales team performance • Establish and refine KPIs, pipeline tracking, and accountability across all sales efforts Operations & Manufacturing • Oversee and help develop all production processes with a focus on efficiency, quality, and scalability • Improve throughput, reduce waste, and optimize labor and workflow • Help develop systems for production planning, scheduling, and inventory management Supply Chain • Build and help develop sourcing, procurement, and logistics strategies • Strengthen supplier and distributor relationships • Support and improve contract negotiation and cost structure improvements Financial Performance • Own and help develop operational budgets and cost controls • Improve margins through efficiency and smarter systems • Partner with ownership on forecasting and growth planning Team Leadership • Build, lead, and help develop a high-performing team across operations and sales • Create structure, accountability, and communication across departments • Develop leaders within the organization What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months) • Establish clear structure and accountability across operations and sales, with defined KPIs, reporting systems, and performance expectations • Build and implement a scalable sales system that drives consistent, measurable revenue growth • Increase distribution across both retail and food service channels by opening new accounts and expanding existing relationships • Improve production efficiency and throughput while maintaining product quality and consistency • Strengthen supply chain reliability through better forecasting, vendor performance, and cost control • Reduce inefficiencies and unnecessary costs across production, logistics, and operations • Create alignment across production, sales, and leadership so the business is operating toward the same goals • Take ownership of day-to-day execution, allowing leadership to focus on long-term growth Who You Are • 10+ years of experience in food manufacturing, CPG, or a related field, with hands-on experience leading teams, building systems, and scaling brands through growth. This includes managing cross-functional teams across operations and sales, creating structure and accountability within organizations, implementing systems for production, inventory, and reporting, and driving brand expansion through increased distribution, new account development, and strong execution across both retail and food service channels • Strong background in both operations and sales leadership • Proven ability to grow revenue and expand distribution • Experience managing distributors, brokers, and sales teams • Comfortable building systems, not just operating within them • Highly organized, accountable, and results-driven • Able to operate independently and make decisions with confidence • Willing to be hands-on and in the field when needed. This is not a desk-only role Why This Role This is a growth position. You are stepping into a company with real momentum, real distribution, and real opportunity, but still plenty of room to build.
