The successful candidate will be a seasoned, emotionally intelligent leader with a proven track record in managing large, multi-faceted private clubs or luxury hospitality operations. This role demands a visible, engaged, and approachable leader who can blend tradition with strategic innovation, set high standards, and promote accountability. The GM/COO will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the club, delivering an exceptional, member-centric experience, and upholding the long-standing values of the organization. Strong financial acumen, a deep understanding of service excellence, and a background in food and beverage operations are essential. The ideal candidate will also be an empowering mentor, a thoughtful communicator, and a steady hand who can navigate complexity with diplomacy and inspire confidence across all constituencies. Candidates for the GM/COO position at the company should have 10-15 years' of general management experience, with a preference for those holding a degree in hospitality management. The role requires a strategic thought partner who can guide long-term planning, identify opportunities for enhancement, and balance tradition with evolving member expectations. The new GM/COO will be expected to spend time with the Board, Members, and Staff to understand the club's culture and history, and then work on enhancing the member experience, particularly in food and beverage operations. They must be adept at establishing key performance indicators, assessing the effectiveness of club programming, and showcasing responsible fiscal management. The candidate should be a creative problem solver, skilled in applying industry best practices, and adept at identifying and implementing best-in-class technologies.
