The Group currently manages a significant portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Italy, including agrivoltaic, photovoltaic and energy infrastructure developments, representing several hundreds of MWp in various stages of engineering, permitting and construction.
To support our continued growth and strengthen our EPC delivery capabilities, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of large-scale renewable energy projects from development handover through commissioning and final acceptance.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with:
Contractual obligations;
Project schedule;
Budget and cost targets;
Quality requirements;
HSE standards;
Technical specifications;
Stakeholder expectations.
The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams operating across engineering, permitting, procurement, construction and commissioning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Leadership
Lead the execution of utility-scale solar PV and agrivoltaic projects from Notice to Proceed through Commercial Operation.
Manage project teams and coordinate all internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure alignment between engineering, procurement, permitting and construction activities.
Drive project execution while maintaining focus on safety, quality, schedule and budget.
Manage project governance and reporting processes.
Planning & Schedule Management
Develop, review and maintain project schedules.
Monitor critical path activities and identify potential delays.
Define and implement recovery and mitigation plans where required.
Coordinate milestone achievement and contractual deliverables.
Engineering & Permitting Coordination
Coordinate engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure timely delivery of design packages and technical documentation.
Support permitting activities and interface with consultants, authorities and regulatory bodies.
Manage design changes and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Procurement & Supply Chain Management
Coordinate major equipment suppliers and subcontractors.
Monitor manufacturing progress and delivery schedules.
Identify procurement risks and implement mitigation actions.
Support commercial negotiations and supplier performance management.
Construction Management
Coordinate site activities through Construction Managers and site teams.
Monitor progress, productivity and resource allocation.
Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and company standards.
Support issue resolution and decision-making during construction phases.
Manage interfaces between multiple contractors and stakeholders.
Commercial & Contract Management
Support the administration of EPC contracts and subcontract agreements.
Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
Assist in the preparation and evaluation of:
Change Orders;
Claims;
Extension of Time requests;
Contractual correspondence.
Maintain awareness of contractual obligations and project commitments.
Stakeholder Management
Act as primary interface with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
Lead project meetings and executive reviews.
Prepare progress reports and management presentations.
Ensure clear communication across all project participants.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Energy or equivalent).
Professional Experience
Minimum 8 years of project management experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale solar PV, agrivoltaic or energy infrastructure projects.
Experience within EPC contracting environments.
Proven track record managing multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Strong knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy project execution.
Project planning and scheduling tools (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent).
Contract administration and risk management.
Procurement and supply chain coordination.
Budget and cost control.
Construction management.
Understanding of permitting and regulatory processes.
Strong reporting and project controls capabilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PMP, IPMA, Prince2 or equivalent project management certification.
Experience working with international investors, IPPs or infrastructure funds.
Experience managing projects exceeding 50 MWp.
Experience with grid connection infrastructure and substations.
Knowledge of Italian renewable energy regulatory framework.
