Come and join us!</p> <p><strong>What You'll Be Doing</strong></p> <ul> <li>Building features for game developers across the Discord app, developer portal, APIs, realtime infrastructure, and Social SDK.</li> <li>Collaborating with other engineers on your team to write, review, and ship elegant and scalable code. You’ll take pride in the fact that your code will be enjoyed by millions and millions of people!</li> <li>With support from your team, you'll own your projects end-to-end, from initial design through post-launch. Along the way, you'll help break high-level ideas into concrete tasks with milestones, build and ship them.</li> <li>Listening and working with our game developer partners to better understand their needs in order to improve our features and tools. This could mean hopping into partner meetings as a technical resource or working with our DevRelations team to answer their questions.</li> <li>Working with product managers, designers, and partner managers to find the way forward through ambiguity.</li> <li>Using your attention to detail to continually raise the quality bar of the software we write.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you should have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>At least 1-3 years experience as a software engineer.</li> <li>Experience with game development. Even more bonus bonus points if you're familiar with Unity and/or Unreal.</li> <li>Experience with some parts of our tech stack: Python, Elixir, Rust, Typescript/React, or C++. You don't need expertise in all of them, but you should be comfortable picking up new languages and learning new systems.</li> <li>A sense for product and design. We don't operate in silos, and you'll be collaborating closely with cross-functional peers. You should be willing to share opinions and collaborate to make something great.</li> <li>A growth mindset. You're not afraid to dive into new code, learn new things, or ask for help when you're blocked. You learn from your mistakes and work through obstacles with the rest of the team.</li> <li>You actively leverage AI coding tools to accelerate your productivity.</li> </ul> <p><strong>[Optional] Bonus Points</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with mobile development.</li> </ul> <p><em><br>The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000 to $180,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
