About the Opportunity The Senior Software Engineer will join an agile product team within the reinsurance division, working closely with product managers and technology leadership. This role is responsible for translating stakeholder requirements into high-quality software systems that address real business challenges. The position also includes leadership of a small development team and reports to senior software engineering leadership. Responsibilities Software Development: Develop complex full-stack software solutions involving system design, coding, and debugging. Build user-friendly, resilient applications with optimized user experiences, delivering business-facing solutions rapidly. Team Leadership & Culture: Manage a small development team, promoting and upholding engineering culture, standards, and processes while mentoring team members. Architecture & Strategy: Lead architecture and design discussions, coordinating with other active projects. Contribute to product roadmap creation by providing high-level engineering estimates. Risk & Quality Assurance: Manage engineering risks through proactive tracking and mitigation. Collaborate with testers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and participate actively in overall quality assurance. Stakeholder Consultation: Advise stakeholders on effective technical approaches to meet project objectives. Stay continuously updated on new technologies and software development best practices. Requirements Professional Experience: 8–10 years of hands-on full stack software development experience. Proven adaptability to rapid-growth environments and a strong commitment to continuous improvement. Core Technical Stack: Proficient in JavaScript with frameworks like React and Node, alongside strong Python development skills. Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience building serverless applications in Azure or AWS. Broad exposure across infrastructure and application domains, including cloud, network, storage, servers, containers/Kubernetes, databases, middleware, and DevOps. Modern Tooling & DevSecOps: Experience with AI development techniques to accelerate solution delivery. Familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, and automated code quality tools. Leadership & Methodology: Strong strategic decision-making, long-term planning, and stakeholder consultation skills. Thorough understanding of Agile development methods. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Compensation and Benefits Compensation Base Salary: Base salary expectation between $150,000 and $200,000 per year, with potential for a higher starting salary based on experience.
