Role: Senior/Lead backend Software Engineer--JAVA+AWS cloud (100% coding ) Loc: Peoria, IL OR Chicago, IL Important Requirements: Local candidates only (Chicago/Peoria area). Duration: 12 months with potential extension Interview Process: 90-minute technical and coding interview In-person interview preferred; Microsoft Teams option available for non-local candidates Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 12+ years of software development experience, OR 8+ years with a Master's degree in a related field. 12+ years of hands-on Java development experience. Minimum 3 years of AWS development experience, including: CloudFormation ECS Clusters Lambda Fargate Amazon Elasticsearch/OpenSearch S3 Strong understanding of AWS IAM roles and policies. Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms. Required Experience Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale software applications. Building cloud-native applications using AWS, Azure, or GCP. Working with relational and NoSQL databases. Implementing architectural patterns such as Microservices, MVC, and Event-Driven Architecture. CI/CD implementation using tools such as Jenkins and Azure DevOps. Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Preferred Skills AWS SQS, SNS, and Kinesis. RESTful API design and development. Swagger, Postman, and Assertible. Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD). Selenium, Cucumber, and CI/CD pipeline integration. Databases including DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL, and Oracle. Soft Skills Ability to perform effectively under pressure and tight deadlines. Strong passion for technology and collaborative teamwork. Proven ability to lead architectural discussions and drive cross-functional solutions.
