Description

Our Mission: To design, manufacture, and distribute the most desirable, highest quality, and innovative products to our customers who share our passion for creating spaces that inspire. Position Summary: The COO will lead all core operational functions of the business, including retail yard performance, contractor sales, distribution and logistics, inventory management, store operations, and overall customer experience. They will be responsible for building and developing high‑performing teams, implementing strong and scalable processes, and driving a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. The role includes overseeing sales and growth initiatives, managing procurement and vendor partnerships, and directing operations across both local and remote markets. A key mandate is to improve profitability through increased sales, disciplined cost control, sustainable margins, and optimized resource allocation. The COO will strengthen operational execution by translating the CEOs and executive teams strategic vision into clear priorities, actionable plans, and measurable KPIs. They must be able to scale the organization by establishing the structures, systems, and processes that support stability while enabling expansion. Ultimately, this role frees the CEO to focus on innovation, market strategy, and external relationships, while the COO manages day‑to‑day operations and internal problem‑solving. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following Operations § Direct and manage daily operations across retail outlets, wholesale distribution, and logistics. § Implement best practices for inventory management, procurement, and supply chain optimization. § Lead initiatives to enhance customer experience and strengthen brand reputation. § Translate corporate strategy into actionable operational plans. § Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols. § Identify and define key performance indicators (KPI’s) to monitor and assess customer satisfaction and quality performance. Develop plans to measure and hold teams accountable. § Lead, manage and hold direct reports accountable for achieving agreed upon goals and performance plans. § Identify areas requiring process enhancements and develop a plan with actionable goals to achieve improvement. § Maintain company safety program (monthly safety topics, safety checklist, binder maintenance). Accounting & Finance § Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance of operational units. § Drive cost-control measures while maximizing revenue streams. § Manage Inventory costing & control with Procurement & Operation team. HR § Create compensation and incentive plans for all positions within the Company. § Push core values and mission statement to drive culture while leading employee engagement within company. § Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams across retail, wholesale, and support functions. Strategic Planning § Improved profitability driven by increased sales, tighter cost control, margin sustainability, and streamlined resource allocation. § Analyze new business and land acquisition/merger opportunities § Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth and assist with development of creating budgets and business plans. § Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing or elimination. Minimum Qualifications and Attributes · Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience building teams and fostering a culture of engagement and accountability. · Strong knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, and retail operations. · Demonstrated success in scaling operations and driving profitability. · Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. · Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or related field (MBA preferred) · Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications. (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required · Strategic thinker with hands-on operational expertise. · Results-driven and financially astute. · Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. · Strong change management skills. · Flexible, creative, and able to work in a non-structured developing work environment. Position Requirements This is a professional position and additional hours may be required at times to meet customer needs. Minimum expectation is generally 45-50 hours per week at the Harwich location, including some weekends. As part of the executive team, you are required to be available during off hours and respond to calls/emails in a prompt manner.
