Description
Job Description ProspectBlue is seeking a mission-driven Fractional CFO to provide strategic financial leadership on a part-time basis. This role will serve as the primary financial liaison to the Board and Audit Committee while leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. The ideal candidate brings strong nonprofit financial expertise, a hands-on approach, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights that support organizational impact and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities: Lead long-term financial strategy, planning, and risk management in alignment with organizational goals Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and budget-to-actual analysis Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and projections to the Board and Finance/Audit Committees Serve as primary liaison for external audits and ensure completion of IRS Form 990 and other regulatory filings Ensure compliance with grant requirements, restricted funds, and donor reporting Provide oversight of accounting operations (AP/AR, payroll, benefits) through internal staff or external partners Strengthen financial systems, controls, and processes to support growth and scalability Partner with executive leadership to align financial strategy with programmatic and fundraising priorities Qualifications: Proven experience as a CFO or senior financial leader, preferably within a nonprofit organization Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and board reporting Experience working with Boards and Finance/Audit Committees Knowledge of nonprofit accounting, compliance, and grant funding requirements Strategic thinker with a hands-on, collaborative approach Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts Why This Role: Flexible, fully remote (10-20 hours/week) High-impact role supporting mission-driven work Direct engagement with executive leadership and Board
