Description
Our client is a fast-growing manufacturer in the aerospace and defense sector. They manufacture engineered components with leading-edge equipment and automation to provide solutions to major global manufacturers.
Our client seeks a site Engineering Manager who will be responsible for improving, developing, and documenting optimized processes that produce complex, high‑precision components. The individual will lead and develop the technical team, ensuring quality and production goals are consistently achieved.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Lead a team in developing accurate and sequential machining steps required to manufacture complex precision components from raw material or castings/forgings.
• Prepare capital expenditure budgets, manage capital projects, and oversee equipment installations to meet schedule and budget requirements.
• Utilize CAD/CAM systems for modeling, with experience in advanced platforms preferred.
• Collaborate closely with site leadership to improve operational performance.
• Implement new technologies, including automation and lights‑out manufacturing strategies.
• Perform cost/benefit analyses to support decisions regarding process or equipment changes.
• Drive process improvement and cycle‑time reduction initiatives, leveraging engineering best practices and automation.
• Lead high‑impact process and quality improvement projects that reduce defects and increase productivity.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years experience
• US Citizen
• Experience with high‑tolerance, complex machining
• Demonstrated leadership experience within a technical or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and translate customer drawings and specifications into effective manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with numerical calculations, including decimals and fractions.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis; Black Belt or Green Belt certification preferred.
• Ability to apply formulas, charts, schedules, and technical documentation.
