Category Manager - Marketing & CommercialLocation: NC-RTP, USContract Type: Regular Full-TimeArea: PROCUREMENTPosition OverviewWe are seeking aGlobal Category Manager – Marketing & Commercialto develop and implement sub‑category strategies within assigned areas of spend. This role serves as a strategic partner to business stakeholders, helping identify opportunities and drive value across key categories.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement multiple sub‑category strategiesPartner with internal stakeholders as a trusted procurement advisorEnsure delivery of tactical and operational procurement objectivesMonitor category performance and report progress to the Category LeaderIdentify and resolve operational challenges in a timely mannerManage category spend and track financial performance/benefitsFoster a collaborative, high‑performing team environmentLead supplier engagement, including negotiations and process improvementsFunctions & Core ActivitiesDrive category management discipline across assigned areasDevelop and execute initiatives such as savings programs, RFPs, supplier rationalization, and contract renegotiationsPerformance ManagementTrack, analyze, and report on category performance metricsOperational ExcellenceQuickly identify and resolve business and supplier‑related issuesIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiencyBuild and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery expectationsMonitor and influence category spend to achieve cost optimizationTeam DevelopmentSupport training and development initiatives within the teamQualifications & ExperienceTo be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred)5+ years of experience in category management, procurement, or marketing‑related sourcingStrong organizational and leadership capabilitiesExcellent problem‑solving and analytical skillsProficiency in data analysis and reporting toolsStrong communication and negotiation skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environmentWhat We OfferAt Grifols, we recognize that our employees are one of our greatest assets. Frequently sits for 6‑8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25 lbs. Frequently drives to site locations and frequently travels within the United States. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues.
