Description
Autonomous street cleaning is no longer a concept - it's on the road. At ENWAY, a Bucher Municipal company based in Berlin, we turn conventional street sweepers into self-driving machines through advanced robotics and software engineering. We've just launched our first product: the Bucher CityCat VR17ae, a fully autonomous compact sweeper.
As our Full Stack Web Engineer, you'll build the web applications and tools that bring our vehicles to life for the people who operate them - fleet dashboards, customer and operator portals, and the internal tools our engineering and operations teams rely on every day. You'll own features end to end, from UI to API to data.
This is a role for a versatile engineer who's comfortable across the stack, cares about building things people actually use, and enjoys turning complex data - live vehicle telemetry, fleet status, mission data - into clear, reliable interfaces. You'll work closely with our product, design, robotics, and operations teams.
Backed by Bucher Municipal, a world-leading manufacturer of municipal cleaning vehicles (sweepers, sewer cleaning, winter maintenance, refuse collection, and digital services), you get startup pace with industrial-scale impact.
Tasks
- Build and maintain web applications across the full stack - frontend, backend, and APIs - for fleet monitoring, operations, and customer-facing products.
- Turn live vehicle and fleet data into clear, responsive dashboards and visualisations (status, telemetry, maps, reports).
- Design and build robust APIs and data models, and integrate with our vehicle, telematics, and backend systems.
- Build internal tools that make our engineering, service, and operations teams faster.
- Own features end to end: design, implement, test, deploy, and iterate based on real user feedback.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, robotics/software, and operations to ship the right things.
- Help shape our frontend/backend architecture, standards, and best practices as our digital products grow.
Requirements
Must have:
- Experience building and shipping production web applications end to end (frontend and backend).
- Proficiency with a modern frontend framework (e.g. React, Vue, or Angular) and TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Solid backend experience (e.g. Node.js) building and maintaining REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Good command of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and sound data modelling.
- Comfortable with Git, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Solid grasp of web fundamentals, API design, and security basics.
- Ownership mindset - you take features from idea to production and care about quality.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
- 3+ years of professional full-time experience.
- Fluent English.
Nice to have:
- German language skills.
- Real-time data (WebSockets, streaming) and event-driven systems.
- Maps and geospatial data (e.g. Mapbox, Leaflet, PostGIS).
- Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containers (Docker).
- Data-visualisation / dashboard experience.
- A good eye for UI/UX and working closely with designers.
- Interest in robotics, IoT, telematics, or hardware-connected products.
Benefits
- Build digital products that put autonomous and connected vehicles into real-world operation.
- High ownership and direct impact - your work is used every day by operators, customers, and colleagues.
- 30 days of vacation per year.
- Flexible working times & Hybrid working (achievement of goals matters, not "face time").
- Flat hierarchies and the freedom to develop and implement your own ideas.
- High-performance company laptop.
- Lunch & fitness-studio subsidies.
- Cool and vibrant working environment at the center of groundbreaking innovation.
- Exciting team events.
