Job Description – Managing Director – North East Trevett Facilities Recruitment USA has partnered with a leading Building Services company who are looking for a Managing Director to join their team in New York to lead their North East operations. The Managing Director is responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of client accounts in the North East, ensuring all financial, operational, and service delivery commitments are consistently met or exceeded. The candidate will be accountable for the overall direction, performance, and profitability of a defined segment of the business. The role leads multiple client engagements, ensuring financial targets, service delivery standards, and growth objectives are consistently achieved. This individual will be instrumental in expanding the business unit, strengthening client partnerships, and ensuring efficient, compliant operations aligned to broader organisational priorities. Key Responsibilities Business Strategy & Expansion • Set and execute the long-term direction for the business segment in line with corporate objectives • Identify and deliver revenue growth opportunities while maintaining profitability • Shape go-to-market approaches in response to industry, economic, and technological developments • Maintain oversight of the opportunity pipeline, ensuring reliable forecasting and conversion • Guide proposal and tender activity to secure new contracts and projects Client Engagement • Establish and nurture senior-level relationships with key clients • Drive improvements in client satisfaction using data, insights, and structured feedback • Ensure consistent governance and reporting practices across all accounts • Contribute to strategic discussions with clients to support account growth Service Delivery & Controls • Oversee delivery standards across all contracts, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance • Embed effective control mechanisms, audits, and performance frameworks • Review account performance regularly, challenging teams to improve outcomes • Lead periodic business reviews with clear accountability and transparency Financial Oversight • Full responsibility for the financial performance of the business segment • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans • Monitor cash flow elements such as work in progress and receivables • Ensure disciplined financial reporting and commercial governance • Oversee sourcing strategies to optimise cost, performance, and supplier engagement Leadership & Team Development • Provide clear direction to cross-functional teams, including operations and commercial functions • Foster a results-driven culture built on collaboration and continuous improvement • Support employee development, engagement, and capability building • Maintain a strong succession pipeline and talent strategy • Champion an inclusive and diverse working environment Risk, Safety & Compliance • Promote a proactive safety culture across all activities • Ensure adherence to all legal, regulatory, and internal standards • Drive ongoing improvements in risk management and operational safety Candidate Profile • Degree-qualified or equivalent professional experience • Extensive senior leadership experience within facilities services or a related sector • Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-site operations • Strong financial management capability, including full P&L ownership • Experience in driving growth through sales, tenders, and client development • Highly effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills • Strategic thinker with sound analytical and decision-making ability • Proven ability to lead large teams and deliver performance outcomes • Comfortable using standard business software tools What You’ll Gain • A senior leadership role within a globally active organisation • Ownership of a significant and diverse business portfolio • A fast-paced, growth-oriented environment • The chance to influence strategy, innovation, and long-term success Apply today with your most recent resume.
