Machinist

Machinist Beltsville, MD Pay Rate: $28 - $30/hr 2nd Shift The Machinist will work with cross-functional teams to support the manufacturing of production parts. The machinist will set up, adjust, operate, and maintain manufacturing machines. They will also participate in continuous improvement projects, including daily 5S activities. Machinist Responsibilities: Read blueprints/sketches to produce required part specifications Work with other shop personnel to support the manufacturing of production parts Analyze and solve fixture and tooling problems in manufacturing areas Perform riveting and de-riveting, including installation and removal of insulation Operate and adjust manual machining equipment, including: lathe, mill, and drill presses Perform equipment set-ups and moderate maintenance Troubleshoot equipment as needed Maintain proper coolant and oil levels in machines Use specified gauges to ensure parts meet stated tolerances Participate in continuous improvement projects, including daily 5S activities Assist in training new employees Machinist Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent 5+ years of machinist experience Proficient in reading blueprints and specs Knowledge of GD&T Ability to lift up to 35 lbs Machinist Additional Skills: Tool and die experience Experience with custom fabrication
