About the Opportunity The Software Engineer role is focused on designing, building, and maintaining backend services that support the organization's digital healthcare platform. This position contributes to creating scalable, high-performance systems and reliable APIs critical to delivering healthcare technology solutions. It provides an opportunity for early-career engineers to develop backend expertise while impacting the delivery of meaningful healthcare resources. Responsibilities Backend and API Development: Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs supporting core product features. Database Management: Model data and write efficient queries in Postgres databases, ensuring long-term data integrity and system performance. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to support seamless feature development from concept to launch. Code Quality and Testing: Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code that strictly adheres to established engineering best practices. Operational Support: Participate in peer code reviews, debugging efforts, and production issue resolution under the direct guidance of senior engineers. Professional Growth: Continually learn and apply secure, scalable backend patterns while proactively finding ways to improve general system performance. Requirements Technical Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field. Programming Skills: Strong programming proficiency in Python, Golang, or TypeScript. Exposure to Rust is considered a plus. Interface Design: Practical experience designing and implementing structured APIs. Database Proficiency: Hands-on experience with relational databases and SQL, including database schema design and optimized query writing. Artificial Intelligence: Familiarity with large language models, prompt engineering, and the integration of AI features. A foundational understanding of AI and machine learning concepts is required. Cloud Systems: Baseline exposure to cloud environments, with a preference for AWS. Compensation & Benefits Compensation Base Salary Range: $105,000 - $135,000. Note: Final placement within this range depends on individual skills, experience, geographic location, and team parity considerations.
