Creative Copywriter

Position Overview The Creative Copywriter is a full-time position that reports to the Marketing Director and works collaboratively as part of the marketing team. This position calls for a complimentary mix of creative vision and excellent communication skills. You will develop both the “big idea” and the copy for new product launches, marketing campaigns, consumer emails and more. Because of the nature of our products, this job requires you to take nuanced, technical information and distill it to fun and engaging copy. Types of assignments include: Product web copy Social media copy Product packaging Email marketing Print ad headlines Corporate writing and more... Along with the marketing team, the Copywriter will collaborate with other internal departments, Zoom Corporation headquarters in Japan, and third party contractors, vendors, and agencies. We are looking for an out-of-the-box thinker who has a passion for brand development and a creative mind. Responsibilities Develop key positioning statements for new products Work with product team to understand key points of products Prepare rough drafts and present your ideas to the team Amend final copy per team comments and gain full approval Work collaboratively with product specialists, photographers/videographers, designers, social media managers, and artists. This also includes third party agencies. Qualifications 4+ years of creative writing experience in product, marketing, brand, at an agency, or in-house team A portfolio that showcases a wide range of writing skills across advertising, branding, social media and product launch campaigns Possess strong attention to detail in all aspects of your work Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize workflow, and meet time-sensitive deadlines Possess creative style, versatility, conceptual ability, and originality Ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with team members, partners, and vendors though written, sketch/storyboard and verbal communication Knowledge of current social media and web trends Ability to travel for trade shows and video/photo shoots as needed Additional Skills Strong visual/interaction/conceptual skills via storyboarding Basic HTML/CSS programming knowledge is a plus Industry experience and passion for music/filmmaking/podcasting This is an on-site position, located at the Zoom North America office in Hauppauge, New York.
