About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Lockheed Martin. This role involves leading the development of advanced data analytics solutions and supporting agile development projects that are crucial to our high-visibility missions. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will collaborate closely with other senior engineers and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and enhance complex software systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products through rigorous testing and validation processes, including Design Acceptance Testing (DAT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), SME validation, Smoke Tests, and System Level Tests (SLT). The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology supporting analytic missions critical to national security and defense initiatives. Qualifications The ideal candidate must possess an active Top Secret clearance with polygraph, demonstrating a high level of trust and security compliance. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) in programs of similar scope, complexity, and nature is required. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution is preferred; however, four (4) additional years of SWE experience (totaling 11 years) on projects with comparable software processes can substitute for the degree. Candidates should have comprehensive experience in full-stack development, including proficiency with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, React, and MongoDB. Prior analytic experience and familiarity with production environments are essential to succeed in this role. Responsibilities As a Senior Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin, your key responsibilities will include: Leading the design, development, testing, and debugging of complex software solutions tailored for analytic missions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and ensure alignment with mission objectives. Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Implementing and maintaining scalable, secure, and reliable software systems in Linux environments. Participating in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Conducting thorough testing and validation of software products to meet quality standards before deployment. Ensuring compliance with security protocols and software development best practices throughout the project lifecycle. Documenting technical specifications, system configurations, and operational procedures for future reference and support.
