About The Role The Senior Software Engineer role at Lockheed Martin is a pivotal position responsible for leading the development and enhancement of complex software systems supporting analytic missions. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including other senior engineers and mission stakeholders, to deliver innovative data analytics solutions in an agile environment. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and secure software products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-visibility projects that directly contribute to national security and technological innovation. Qualifications The ideal candidate must possess an active Top Secret clearance with polygraph, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs of similar scope and complexity is required. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution is preferred; however, four (4) additional years of relevant software engineering experience (totaling 11 years) can substitute for a formal degree. Proven expertise in full-stack development, including proficiency with JavaScript, React, and MongoDB, is essential. Prior analytic experience and familiarity with production environments are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of software development processes, testing, debugging, and deployment methodologies, particularly within Linux operating systems. Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex software systems supporting analytic missions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and develop innovative solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, and deployment. Ensure adherence to quality assurance processes such as DAT, UAT/SME validation, Smoke Testing, and System Level Testing prior to deployment. Identify and resolve technical issues promptly, maintaining high standards of software quality and security. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate best practices into development processes. Assist in the continuous improvement of development methodologies and tools to enhance productivity and product quality.
