Description
For our client, we are seeking a Data Engineer II to join the team of a leader in the Media space. This role will lead technical work focused on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a Media environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $120,000 – $135,000 annually
Responsibilities
Build and optimize data pipelines using Apache Spark and Python, processing billions of events
Collaborate with senior engineers to enhance data pipelines through innovative solutions
Oversee operational performance and uptime of your data builds
Work with SRE teams to manage infrastructure via Terraform and AWS
Identify and resolve impactful problems proactively
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in data engineering roles
Hands-on experience with Apache Spark (PySpark) for data pipeline construction
Strong Python programming skills, especially in the context of Spark
Familiarity with event-based data architecture like Kafka
Knowledge of SQL for data analysis and transformation
Experience with AWS and Terraform for infrastructure management
Background in continuous integration using Jenkins or GitHub actions
