Sr. Software Development Engineer

About the Opportunity: The Sr. Software Development Engineer will contribute to an agile development team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable transportation management services. This role is critical in shaping software architecture and best practices, coaching team members, and collaborating across teams to enhance system performance and project delivery. The position directly impacts the reliability, scalability, and quality of core software solutions. 3. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with an agile team to design, develop, and maintain scalable services • Write technical design specifications • Recommend and develop architectural and detailed design for development teams • Coach team members on software best practices, including design, coding, testing, and troubleshooting • Work with other teams to optimize system architecture and project efficiency • Partner with the Product Owner to plan and prioritize work • Maintain high software quality standards within the team • Assist with collecting and documenting user requirements, user stories, estimates, and work plans • Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback • Analyze and resolve technical and application issues • Apply continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices regularly • Support, maintain, and document software functionality • Research and evaluate software products; create proof of concepts (PoCs) for new technologies 4. Requirements: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, design patterns, and software architecture • Experience with distributed systems and microservices • Proficient in C# and .NET Core • Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and container orchestration • Knowledge of REST APIs, event-driven architectures, caching, scaling, and security • Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MSSQL, Postgres, Elastic, Cassandra, Mongo) • Experience with CI/CD systems and agile methodologies • Familiarity with source control systems such as Git • Experience with queue processing technologies like MSMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka • Experience building dashboards and alerts using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana • Experience mentoring, leading teams, or serving as a technical lead • Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in Computer Science preferred • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts clearly • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues using sound judgment and escalate when necessary 5.
