Description
Senior Product Manager — Developer Tooling (Remote, US)
Our client is a developer tooling company operating at serious scale — their products are trusted by frontend teams at some of the most recognizable brands on the internet to ship flawless UI to billions of users every day. They're past the scrappy 0→1 phase: this is a durable, successful product with a real customer base, and they're investing hard in the enhancements that fuel enterprise growth.
They're looking for a Senior PM who wants ownership, not a lane. Here, PMs don't get assigned to a single engineering team to babysit a backlog — you own company-level objectives and work across multiple engineering teams to hit them. You'll set direction in two-month horizons (no fictional 12-month roadmaps), read where the industry is heading, and stay nimble enough to react when it shifts.
What the day-to-day actually looks like:
Getting on calls with enterprise customers — and hearing past what they're asking for to the problem they're actually trying to solve
Translating those insights into crisp, compelling product specs (you'll write a lot — this is a remote, async-first team where great writing is how decisions get made)
Partnering with design, engineering, marketing, sales, and CS to ship enhancements that move the metrics behind your objectives
Owning features end-to-end, from discovery through delivery and instrumentation
Flexing across the platform — core product one week, enterprise needs like SSO / account management / permissions the next
You're a strong fit if you:
Have 4+ years of product experience at SaaS companies, with genuine end-to-end ownership of features (not "product was one of my many hats")
Are an exceptional writer — concise, content-rich, persuasive
Are technical enough to understand how developers actually use the product, CI/CD workflows, and the frontend ecosystem
Run customer discovery that gets to root causes, and pair it with product analytics to make evidence-driven calls
Hold strong opinions weakly — push for better outcomes, take critique without ego, and thrive in ambiguity
The ideal candidate also brings:
A background as a frontend or software engineer before moving into product
Real time spent in the developer tooling space
A genuine love of UI, design, and the frontend world — you'd be a happy user of what you're building
Bonus: a non-traditional path into tech (a real career before this one) — our client values the perspective that brings
