Description
Director of Sales & Business Development
We are currently seeking a Director of Sales & Business Development for our client, a growing industrial electronics and manufacturing organization focused on expanding both its commercial construction and service operations.
This is a high-impact executive leadership opportunity reporting directly to the President and playing a key role in the company’s long-term growth strategy, customer engagement, and revenue development initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and relationship-driven sales leader who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and has experience driving commercial growth within industrial manufacturing, aerospace, military/defense, or electronics-focused industries.
Position Overview
The Director of Sales & Business Development will lead the development and execution of scalable business development strategies designed to support long-term organizational growth, customer retention, recurring service revenue, and market expansion.
This individual will collaborate closely with executive leadership, operations, manufacturing, project management, and service teams to strengthen customer relationships, improve sales processes, and drive sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth Strategy
Develop and execute company-wide business development strategies
Build scalable sales systems, workflows, and CRM processes
Lead CRM implementation and sales pipeline development initiatives
Establish KPIs, metrics, forecasting tools, and reporting structures
Identify new markets, customer opportunities, and strategic partnerships
Support marketing efforts, trade shows, and customer engagement activities
Customer Relationship Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with industrial clients, contractors, and strategic partners
Generate new business opportunities across commercial construction and service operations
Drive recurring service revenue and long-term customer retention
Improve forecasting visibility and support demand planning initiatives
Deliver high-level customer service and relationship management
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with estimators, project managers, manufacturing, and operations teams to support project execution from proposal through delivery
Coordinate commercial activities across departments
Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and trade shows
Support alignment between business development, operations, manufacturing, and service teams
Help build scalable commercial infrastructure to support future growth
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
7+ years of sales leadership or business development experience
Experience within one or more of the following industries:
Industrial electronics manufacturing
Aerospace
Military/Defense manufacturing
Industrial manufacturing
Proven success growing customer relationships within manufacturing environments
Experience implementing CRM systems and sales infrastructure
Strong background in revenue growth and strategic business development
Preferred
Experience with RFPs, procurement, and industrial project lifecycle processes
ERP/CRM experience including Made2Manage and/or CalcuQuote
Experience supporting both project-based and recurring service business models
Strong executive communication and leadership skills
