Description

Position Summary: MTH is seeking a highly creative and digitally fluent content producer with a strong focus on photography, video capture, social media content, and visual storytelling. This is not a traditional marketing position. We are looking for someone who is excited by live performance, rehearsal rooms, education programs, backstage energy, and the day-to-day life of a busy producing theater company. In this role, you will be responsible for capturing and creating engaging digital content across MTH productions, concerts, camps, events, and educational programming. You will help document the life of the organization in real time and translate that energy into compelling social media content, photography, reels, digital assets, and email materials. The ideal candidate is proactive, visually sharp, fast-moving, collaborative, comfortable working independently, and deeply familiar with contemporary social media culture and content creation. We are less interested in formal marketing experience and more interested in strong creative instincts, technical competence, and evidence of engaging digital work. This position is expected to average approximately 25-30 hours per week, with the potential to grow into a full-time role for the right candidate Essential Job Functions: • Photography & Content Capture: Capture high-quality photo and video content across productions, rehearsals, concerts, camps, student matinees, educational programming, special events, and day-to-day organizational activity for use across digital platforms. • Social Media Content Creation: Create engaging, fast-turnaround content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and related platforms. This includes reels, short-form video, behind-the-scenes content, photo carousels, artist features, rehearsal moments, and promotional assets. • Editing & Asset Production: Edit and assemble photo and video content into polished but authentic digital assets using programs such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Canva, Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools. • Graphic Layout & Digital Assembly: Assemble existing graphic assets into visually engaging layouts for social media, digital displays, postcards, email campaigns, and related promotional materials. Strong layout instincts and attention to visual presentation are essential. • Email Content Support: Build and distribute visually compelling email campaigns and announcements using existing branding and templates. • Creative Collaboration: Work closely with organizational leadership to develop engaging content ideas while maintaining the playful and artistic tone of the MTH brand. • Content Turnaround: Maintain a fast and responsive workflow. Many content assets, rehearsal photos, and event materials are expected to be edited and delivered within 48 hours. • Platform Awareness: Stay current with evolving social media trends, platform behaviors, and emerging content styles while helping MTH maintain an active and contemporary digital presence. • Community Engagement: Assist in maintaining an active and engaging social media presence through posting, audience interaction, and ongoing content development. • Additional duties as assigned Qualifications: • Strong photography and/or videography skills with a portfolio or social media presence demonstrating visual storytelling and content creation ability. • Proficiency in visual editing and content creation software such as Photoshop, Canva, Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms. • Strong understanding of short-form video content and platform-native storytelling across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and related channels. • Ability to work independently, move quickly, communicate clearly, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, responsiveness, and reliability. • Comfortable capturing live events, rehearsals, performances, and backstage environments in both daytime and evening settings. • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed for performances, rehearsals, events, and educational programming. • Experience in theater or live entertainment is a plus but not required. • Formal marketing degrees or traditional nonprofit marketing experience are not required. Strong portfolios, creative instincts, and evidence of engaging digital work are valued more heavily. Compensation and Benefits: $22 - $26 hourly (approximately 25-30 hrs/week anticipated), flexible scheduling, opportunity for growth into a full-time role, complimentary tickets, and Simple IRA 3% match. • ******************************** How to apply: THE ONLY WAY TO APPLY IS by EMAILING [email protected] - LinkedIn submissions will NOT be reviewed. Interested candidates should submit a resume, portfolio, photography samples, links to social media accounts or content they have created, and a brief introduction outlining why they are interested in the position to [email protected] with the subject line “Digital Content Producer.” Traditional cover letters are not necessary. We are most interested in seeing your creative work, visual instincts, and understanding of digital content creation. No phone calls, please.
