Lead Preschool Teacher

JAM Early Education is a Reggio Emilia Inspired day school with an emergent curriculum. We plan our curriculum based on principles of development and the needs of the specific children in our classrooms.Each classroom fosters an environment that allows children to learn through exploring the world around them. By exploring, they are given the means to construct their own knowledge and become independent thinkers. For each child we serve, from the youngest infant at 6 weeks old to our preschooler ready to transition to kindergarten, they are being planned for based on their individual interests, needs, and learning goals. We discover this insight of the child by completing observations. We focus on providing children with principle based learning experiences that ignite their curiosity and desire to learn. Our operating hours are 7:00am - 4:00pm daily with an all staff meeting from 4:45-6:15 once a month. We choose to offer the TEACH scholarship to eligible teachers who choose to further their education. Our organization strives to maintain a collaborative and supportive environment not only in the classrooms, but the entire facility. We provide on site training for all of our staff. The classroom portion of training includes a 2 week training and shadowing period with the lead teacher of the classroom. It includes observing and hands-on experience. In addition to the training with the lead teacher, new teachers will meet with the Chief Education Officer to reflect in principle. The meetings with the Chief Education Officer are ongoing to support professional development. Responsibilities: • Create a learning environment that fosters discovery, imagination, and child development • Build, maintain, and nurture relationships with children and families • Observe children for their individual needs to plan developmentally appropriate educational opportunities • Plan and implement activities that meet the intellectual, emotional, and social needs of your students in alignment with principles and child development • Listen for children's questions and provide opportunities for them to construct their own knowledge • Ensure that the facility and all equipment is clean, well-maintained, and safe • Manage and mentor classroom staff • Document children's learning through documentation, Indiana Early Learning Standards and maintaining portfolios • Work in accordance to Indiana State licensing rules, Voluntarily Certification Program guidelines, and Paths to Quality guidelines • Attend and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities Availability: Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Requirements: • Associates, Bachelors, or CDA in Early Education or equivalent • Experience working as a teacher • Experience planning for children's learning • A curious spirit and desire for lifelong learning opportunities • Must be reliable, organized, and have an eye for detail • Availability to be in the classroom Monday - Friday (we are open 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m, hours will vary within that time frame) Nice to Have: • Experience working in a Bloom School • Experience working in a Reggio Emilia Inspired School Benefits: • Competitive Wages • Health Insurance • 401K • Paid Time Off • Free JAM Membership - The membership includes free fitness and aquatics classes, access to the pool and spa, access to the fitness center, and discounted rates on rentals and programs. • Tuition support for those seeking a CDA, Associates, or Bachelors Degree in Early Education • Professional Growth Opportunities • Warm, collaborative, professional, and inspiring work culture • No Weekends • Rewarding Career • Tri-Share for qualified candidates
